There are no words to express the heartache in losing Lolie. Never was there a kinder soul who would give you the last nickel she had. The Ourso's became our lifelong friends when we moved onto Lombre Lane in 1965. They thought my family was wild(they were somewhat) and couldn't decide if they liked our family or not. But with 4 new kids next door and 2 at our house and 2 sets of parents, we all bonded and became fast friends of over 52 years now. Not just friends but family. Lolie's talents were abundant from sewing, cooking, decorating, to taking care of various family members. She loved her Cajun roots and her extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
I remember playing dolls with Lolie, playing in the treehouse, hopscotch out back, cooking, playing softball in the street and building forts in the woods. It was always Lolie, Myra, Robert, Kent and myself. We were a fierce group and there would always be lots of love, laughter and food at the Oursos. I loved it. Kent and I spent more time at their house than at ours. There were no better times than at the holidays. We would all have Thanksgiving together and that was a crowd, then would come Christmas and we would have all sorts of delicious foods and treats, then we would get to go to Mass at midnight with the family. We weren't Catholic so it was a treat for us.
Lolie's kind soul, her love of animals, her family, and love of life will be certainly missed. She never turned anyone away and always tried to help or lend an ear. I will miss her forever as she was more than a friend, but like a sister. May you rest in peace, be running around with Elizabeth and I hope Mother is not bothering you to help her. You are to rest in peace. I love you and you are forever in my heart.
Love

Myra,
A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Please accept our condolences, as Lolie will not be forgotten. Myra, may you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dearest Ourso Family,
I am shocked and saddened upon learning of your dear Lolie's passing. What a beautiful and kind soul now resideing in Heaven.
It was a joy to be around Lolie, as she was always so energetically and lovingly doing something to help others. I have many happy memories of our times spent together at Choctawhatchee High School.
I first knew Lolie and your family, when you all shopped at Dad's grocery store.
Lolie, Elizabeth, Myra, Betty, and Lolie's grandmother would arrive and do their weekly shopping. It was as though a "party" had arrived. You were loading you cart and sometimes carts and laughing and visiting as you went from the shelf to shelf and on to the meat market. When you would arrive at the register to check out, I remember my grandmother was often the one who checked you all out. What a happy family that did everything together! That's how I will always remember the Oursos.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. It is my prayer that you find comfort in knowing the true God in heaven cares for you and has promised to sustain you during times of grief. Continue to rely on him while you wait for his promise to swallow up death forever to be fulfilled. (Isaiah 25:8)
