Les Thompson, age 100, of Fort Walton, FL, passed away on February 10, 2017. He was born to Clarence and Frances Thompson on July 18, 1916 in Hiatville, KS and spent his youth in Fort Scott, Ks. After graduating from KSU he worked as a chemical engineer for Morton Salt Company until he retired to Florida. He is predeceased by his wife, Sara, his daughter, Margaret, his parents, and siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Jane, granddaughter, Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Gloria, Johnny, and Haley. According to his wishes he will be cremated and a family celebration of life will be held on a subsequent date.
