Karen Joan (Pittman) Olson, resident of Miramar Beach, FL died March 28th 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin Fl.

Karen was born on Sept 17th 1940, to Melvin (Bud) and Eloy (Toadie) Pittman, in Colorado.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  In addition to one sister, Sharon Gill; Cousin, Sandra Gate; and Nieces, Robin Henson, Jamie Barber and Stephanie Fogel, She is survived by her Husband, Leonard Wayne Olson of 50+ years and her children Sam Olson (Eve) of Bethel, Ct, Brett Olson (Peggy) of Pelham, Alabama and Sally Olson, Miramar Beach, Fl; Four Grandchildren, Jacob and Dylan and Spencer and Carly (Gracie) Olson.

After earning her high school degree in 1958 at Hudson Bay High School, Vancouver, Wa she worked for a short time with Corps of Engineers prior to becoming a flight attendant with Western Airlines.  She married in 1965 in Vancouver, Wa at the Methodist Church.

Karen enjoyed golfing, Halibut fishing in Alaska, Skydiving in Alabama, and white water rafting in Montana.  She enjoyed her condo in Belize where she became President for 8 years.  Karen made no apologies for her long career on The Republican Party which started as an avid supporter of Young Republicans of Barry Goldwater right up to recent Donald Trump. 

Karen lived for her children and Grandchildren, she just didn't see them often enough.  Karen was a very direct, No Fluff, Private person.  She was most happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 31, 2017 at 12pm at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Ft Walton Beach, Fl.  The family will receive visitors 2 hours prior to the service.
