Zina L Carr

Zina Lee Carr, 81, husband of the late Karen (Bounds) Carr of Crestview, Florida passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 after a brief illness at fort Walton Rehabilitation Center with family beside him.  Mr Carr was born December 14, 1936 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Haskell “Hack” and Nancy K. Smith Carr both from Tennessee.  He joined the United States Air Force at a young age and served his country honorably for 21 years.  He had the privilege of serving in the Philippines where he met his first wife, Cris, and the mother of his six children.  After retiring from the US Air Force, he worked for Bell South Telephone Company as a Communications Engineer before retiring. Zina loved animals, especially cats.  He would feed stray cats of the neighborhood and eventually becoming their owner. In addition to his wife, Karen, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jerry and Danny Carr.  His brothers; Othel “Boots,” Richard, Hubert, and a sister; Jamie E Maynard all of Tennessee.  Mr. Carr ios survived by his sons: Gary Carr of Fort Walton Beach, Edward & Companion, Liz Ramirez of Houston, Texas, Harold Carr of Crestview, Florida, and daughter, Rosemarie (Jerry) Lawhorn of Ozark, Alabama.  He is the grandfather to: Angelo, Rosalina, Curtis, Kyle, Cole, Brianna, Aysia, Dustin, Tyler, and Haleigh.  Great- grandchildren: Keegan, Landen, Kennedie, Karter, and Noah.  He is also survived by his sisters; Maggie (Marvin) Hamm, Alice( Mike) Hall, Mitze (HowardJr.) White, and brother, Robert (Barbara) Carr from Tennessee, as well as several nieces and nephews.   Visitation will be Saturday, Novmber 17, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach.  Funeral services will be Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services at Beal Memorial Cemetery
