William Elton Zuppa, age 83, passed away, Monday September 24, 2018 in Mary Esther, Florida. He was born in 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Michael and Giovanna Zuppa. William was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Armando Zuppa, Emma Moneypenny, Gloria Bonavita, and Joseph Zuppa. William retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. After retirement he worked as a General Contractor for 25 years. He was one of the founding members of the local lodge of the Sons of Italy and helped organize three other lodges located in Pensacola, Crestview, and Panama City. William was very instrumental and worked hard at setting up sponsors and donations for the Veteran’s Tribute Tower located just inside the main gates of Beal Memorial Cemetery. William leaves cherished memories to his loving wife of 60 years Chiyoko Zuppa; sons Jim Zuppa (Lori) and Joe Zuppa (Patti); daughter Donna Ansell (Wade); sister Claire Norris; brother Genezio “Jerry” Zuppa; grandchildren Michael Zuppa, Alyssa Ansell, Ryan Ansell, Jessica Stewart (Calab), Jenna Krafft (Nathan), and Jovonna Zuppa; great grandchildren Ellie, Vera ,and Rowley Stewart and Frances Krafft. A gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 110 Saint Mary Ave. SW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Interment of the cremains will follow the mass at Beal Memorial Cemetery at the Veteran’s Tribute Tower. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org.
