Wesley Charles Shirley, Sr., age 73, passed away Wednesday August 2, 2017 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  He was born in 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska to the late Dorsey Shirley (paternal) and Betty (Higgins) Shirley (maternal). Wes was a retired MSgt with 26 years combined service (Navy and Air Force).  He enjoyed tinkering on automobiles and was an avid race fan of Dale Earnhardt and Jr. Wesley also loved to ride his Honda Gold Wings motorcycle.  Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Margaret Ackley-Shirley; son Wesley C. Shirley, Jr. (Michelle); daughter Elizabeth Turner (Bryan); step-son Ritchie Riley (Amber); brothers David Shirley (Kelly) and Ron Shirley (Charleen); grandchildren James Young, Jared Young, Dania Turner and Alexandra Shirley; and step-granddaughter Hannah Riley –Lunger.  Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday August 11, 2017 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Wesley’s life with military honors will begin at 3:00 pm Saturday August 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be officiated at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
