Violet Patricia "Pat" Kelly

Violet Patricia “Pat” Kelly, age 88 of Shalimar, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021.  Pat was born in Morgantown, WV in 1933 to Merwin and Nellie Davis. 

Pat attended schools in Morgantown and then attended West Virginia University where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and the University swim team.  Pat and Gerald met in high school and they were married in 1952.   While Gerald served in the Air Force, they lived in Amarillo, TX, and Panama City, FL.  Pat and Gerald moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1964, and have lived in the area ever since.  Pat was an avid golfer and loved playing with her friends throughout the years.  She was Shalimar Pointe’s Champion several times and enjoyed many awards for golf, including 14 holes in one.  Pat served the community at her favorite charity, Sharing and Caring since 1998 and had many great friends there.  She has been a member of Shalimar United Methodist Church since 1970. 

Her husband, Gerald Kelly, died in 2017 after they had been married for 65 wonderful years.  Pat was the last of six children.  Her daughter and best friend, Tami Kelly, granddog, “Sugg”, brother-in-law Robert Kelly and several nieces and nephews survive her.

A special thanks to Donna at Emerald Coast Cancer Center, Dr. Lunderman, and staff, Emerald Coast Hospice, her “special caregiver” Shirlanders, her favorite Bible group “Splash of Joy” and the Shalimar Pointe Ladies Golf group.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Shalimar United Methodist Church (SUMC) in Shalimar, FL, on 9 Jul, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phillip McVay officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A reception will follow at the Family Life Center at SUMC.
