Thomas John Hoefling, age 88, of Destin, Florida, passed away on January 11, 2019. He was born on May 5, 1930 to the parents of Fredrick and Lorraine Hoefling in Omaha, NE, and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Graduate of Marquette University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Marines Corp and after being honorably discharged he went into the sales profession for Worthington Industries in Chicago. Tom relocated to Superior/Cooper Energy Services located in Springfield, OH, transferring to Singapore for several years with wife Sonja before residing in Boca Raton, FL. He retired as Regional Director of Sales for the Far East/Latin American countries. Tom was a devoted Catholic, loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He is predeceased by wife Evelyn, sister Shirley, brother General John “Jack” Hoefling, survived by sister-in-law Patricia Hoefling, nieces and nephews. Tom is also survived by wife Sonja Hoefling (Cyphers) of 34 yrs, children Kurt (Lisa) Hoefling, Kim (Jeff) Davis, Karrie (Ray) Nelson, Kevin (Denise) Hoefling, Lisa (Mark) Thompson, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Catholic Mass will be held February 9, 2019 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Church in Destin, FL. The family will receive visitors from 10:00-10:45am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made to the Corpus Christi Church or your favorite charity. A Celebration of Life will also be held May 5, 2019 in Springfield, Ohio.
