Suzanne J. Strickland

Suzanne Jackson Strickland was born in Wrightsville Georgia on January 17, 1934 and passed away at the age of 87 on June 13, 2021.  After obtaining her undergraduate degree in education and home economics from Georgia State College, Suzanne moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL to begin her career as a teacher. Teaching was a lifelong passion for Suzanne, and her career spanned 30 years as a home economics teacher at Choctawhatchee High School. She was known by all as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Suzanne is proceeded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vallie Jackson; sister, Freema Spivey, and husband Richard E. Strickland. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Robyn L. Strickland and grandchildren, Cory N. Gordon and Sean P. Gordon; stepdaughter, Elise Slack (husband Steve) and her children, Casey Barabe and Rachel Barabe.
