Susan Lampo Horner, age 76, of Niceville/Bluewater Bay, Florida crossed over on Saturday, March 11, 2023, after a brief illness.  Susan was born in Jenerette, LA on October 1, 1946.  She was an accomplished interior designer, having owned a design business in North Palm Beach, FL, and did design work in such places as Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Destin, etc.  She was employed at Lily Pads in Niceville for the past several years.  She was a highly talented artist, wonderful cook, and baker, sharing many of her delicacies with many friends and family.  She was also an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Mary Esther.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lt. Col. (Retired) Michael Horner, and son, Mitchell Harrison; stepdaughter, Stacy H. Carter, and husband Joel; Michael Horner II and his wife, Cara, and daughter, McKenzie Horner; sisters, Leslie L. Williams, Janice L. Benoit and husband, David, Laurie L. Kieffer and husband, Travis; brother, John Lampo, all of LaFayette, LA.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Mercedes Lampo of LaFayette, LA; nephews, Christopher Landry, Bannon Braun, and David Williams.

A Visitation will take place on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Markella and Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Mary Esther, FL., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

At Susan’s request, in Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alaqua Animal Refuge.
