Stephen Richard Spinella

Stephen Richard Spinella of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away suddenly on May 2, 2022. He was 66 years old.

Stephen was born on April 8th, 1956 to Frank and Catherine Spinella in Providence, Rhode Island. He worked for many years as a police officer for Okaloosa County and as a U.S. Marshall.

Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Marie Spinella; 2 daughters, Lisa Carr of Centennial, CO, and Rachel Campbell of Navarre, FL; son, Ross Muniz of Kinston, AL; siblings, Susan Cant of Lomita, CA, Sherry Simpson of Hendersonville, NC, Michael Spinella of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Thomas Spinella of Fullerton, CA. He is also survived by 4 beautiful granddaughters, Ava, Trinity, Rita, and Sophia.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frank Spinella and Catherine Mary Riley; his son, Amon Atkinson Spinella; and his brother, Antony Spinella.

It took Stephen half his life to meet his soulmate, Teresa, but their love and connection was like no other. He loved her with every ounce of his soul. He was funny and never took anything serious. No matter how tough the situation was that he or his family faced, he was always able to help you see the bright side. He always wanted to help people and you could always rely on him. He was an amazing man, father, and friend to all.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching baseball, but he especially loved having Papa play dates. He would spend the day at the pool spoiling them with food and snacks, long beach walks looking for shells, or bike rides to the corner store to get icees, a tradition that began with his daughter. Stephen loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. Sophia, the youngest grandchild, held a very special place in his heart.
