Shirley Jane Terry

Shirley Jane Terry, 65, of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away Thursday November 11, 2021 at her home.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Ron Arms; daughter, Trisha Hodges (Brandon); son, Eric Kuhl (Lyndsey); and sister Brenda Buckley. She is also survived by the lights of her life, grandchildren Caden, Cooper, Chloe, Emilee, Alyssa, Milo and Eliot.

In addition to her parents Dean and Virginia Buckley, she was preceded in death by her brother Garry and infant brother Larry.

Shirley was born and spent the first half of her life in West Virginia, where she raised her own family. She enjoyed a career as an optometry assistant for many years, loved decorating cakes from home and crafting many ceramic knick-knacks.

Life eventually moved her to Tennessee, and while she very much enjoyed her years in the Volunteer State, she made her way to Florida and finally found the place she called “home”. She formed close bonds and lasting friendships with many people. Everyone came to learn that her true talent was cooking. She and Ron spent countless hours traveling from place to place with his job, and the people they encountered along the way always enjoyed some of Shirley’s “home cooking” on the road. When at home, she loved being in the kitchen, planting flowers, feeding her squirrels and walking on the beach.

Shirley was a very private, nurturing and loving soul. She was an incredible mother, wife and sister; and the most phenomenal Nana to her Tennessee angels and Grandma Shirley to her Wild and Wonderful WV babies. She made a huge impact on countless lives, especially those of her family and close friends.

Visitation will be Saturday November 20, 2021 at 1:00pm CST with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00pm CST. There will be a reception after the memorial service at the funeral home.
