Sheldon Factor

Sheldon Factor, longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away at the age of 91 peacefully on June 20, 2020 from complications related to old age.  Sheldon was born to Max and Anna Factor in the Bronx borough of New York City on January 10, 1929, just before the Great Depression, and was a true New Yorker.  He was drafted to the U.S. Army in 1950 during the Korean War and was assigned to the Signal Corps where he maintained critical communications equipment at a remote location in North Korea.  This is where Sheldon learned about electronics and after returning from the war he went to work for various defense-related companies as a technician on military aircraft navigation and countermeasure systems.  Sheldon married Carmen (Santiago) in 1972 and moved to Fort Walton Beach to support the F-15 program at Eglin Air Force Base in 1981.  There they raised their daughter, Joanne Beth Factor and son, Maynard Joel Factor (Cassie).  Later in life, Sheldon was blessed with his granddaughter, Alice Lorraine Factor.  Sheldon was a devoted family man who enjoyed a good joke, tinkering in his garage, Sunday hikes, weightlifting at the gym, and trading on the Stock Market.  Sheldon was loved by all and will be deeply missed.  A graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11:00aCST.
