Sharon Ann Florence

Sharon Ann Florence, age 67, resident of Shalimar, Florida died at home after a brief illness on Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was born to Leo and Dorothy Kilgo on November 14, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan. She married Paul Florence on November 1, 1975, and moved to Florida to begin their lives together. She was a dedicated mother to her three children, always involved with scouts, sports, choir, theater, etc. she never missed an important event. Sharon also dedicated her life to taking care of others as a registered nurse, working in the emergency room for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, watching sporting events (especially figure skating), and snuggling with her beloved cats. She is survived by her children, Seth Florence of Destin, Florida and Sara Florence of Shalimar, Florida, her mother Dorothy Kilgo of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and her siblings Leo Kilgo, Bonnie Wegner, and Frank Kilgo. She is preceded in death by her father Leo Kilgo, her husband Paul Florence, and her son Sean Florence. We will be holding a memorial on August 6, 2022, at 7 pm at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Racetrack Rd.
