Sandra Taylor

May 24, 1938 ~ February 6, 2024 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Sandra Taylor, 85, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, entered God’s kingdom on February 6th, 2024. She was born May 24, 1938, to Clyde Wooley Taylor Jr. and Dorothy Drexel White in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Sandy, a devoted, loving mother and grandmother, is survived by her children, daughters Melinda (Bryan) Sherri (Danny); sons, Alan (Heather) Paul (Amanda); grandchildren Megan (Seth), Joshua (Alicia), Kayla, Merrick, Taylor, Darby, Katie, Collin (Hannah), Caitlyn (Dawson), Casey; great grandchildren Harper, Lila, Bentley, Chase, Ayden, Colt, Grace; Brothers Dennis Groseclose (Lorraine), Clyde Edwin Taylor (Reiko); and her faithful cats, Daisy and Sally.  She was preceded in death by her son Scott (Ron), brother William McCreery II (Paquita), brother John and sister-in-law, Ruth Taylor.

After her treasured family, Sandy’s second favorite thing in life was to travel the world.  Her first marriage to Hubert Laird, took her young growing family across the sea to Italy. Being stationed in Europe gave the family an opportunity to experience living abroad. Upon returning to the States, the family settled in Mary Esther, Eglin AFB, and Fort Walton Beach, respectively.

Sandy never met a stranger and her zest for life trickled over into her son’s restaurant business.  She worked with Alan in the business office for 12 years.  She fostered lifelong relationships with employees and vendors alike.  If the walls could talk, oh the stories they could tell.

Sandy was very active and served her church family at Trinity United Methodist.

Thank you to all her friends and extended family for the outpouring of love and support right up to her very last breath.  Sandy was sent off to be with her Lord and Savior with love, psalms, music, prayer, and her immediate family members faithfully by her side.

A celebration of life service will take place in April at AJ’s on the Bayou, 200 Eglin Pkwy NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite children’s charity, Kids on the Coast.
