Tribute

Jamell Jordan Nunez

October 28, 1993 - December 31, 2020

Received his angel wings on December 31, 2020, from a sudden illness and complications in Sacramento, California, surrounded by loved ones.

Jamell was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 28, 1993, to Marta (Jeannie) Rodriguez-Nunez and Teodoro Nunez.

Jamell was proud of being from the City of Champions. Being an avid sports fanatic, Jay wore his favorite team apparel every chance he had, rocking the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, and the Patriots no matter what season it was. He loved to get the newest pair of Jordans since his parents started the trend with his first baby shoes.

Jamell grew up in Fort Walton Beach/Navarre, Florida from the age of 8. He attended school at Florosa Elementary, Liza Jackson Preparatory School and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 2011, where he played football and basketball. One of his most cherished memories was winning the basketball State Championship with his favorite Viking teammates. After high school, he attended Troy State University majoring in Having A Good Time, and then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by joining the United  Airforce in May 2013. He most recently served as active duty stationed at Travis AFB in California. He was previously stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska, where he spent four great years. Prior to that, he spent his military career stationed at Cannon AFB, Keesler AFB, and Lackland AFB.

Jamell adored his family and dearest friends and loved spending quality time with everyone. In June 2018, he married his love and soul mate, Lindsey Harrell Nunez. Lindsey filled his heart with even more joy and laughter, and countless adventures. Together they welcomed and adored their two rescued fur babies, Brady and Stella.

Jamell has touched many lives throughout his young life, leaving our hearts aching and our lives forever changed.

The way Jay genuinely cared for his friends and family, often checking in on everyone, never went unnoticed. Jamell was intentional and showed care for both the people right by his side and those he hadn’t seen in years. His selflessness, love, kindness, and humor were just small tokens that we will always remember. His big smile that made yours grow bigger, laughter that made you laugh harder, and jokes that brought you to tears will be missed eternally.

Jamell’s legacy will live on forever and the immeasurable impact he had on so many lives will be irreplaceable.

To our Jamell, Jay, My Nirvana, My King, Baby, Papi, JJ, Jamelly, Nunez, Nuni, Nasty Nun, Big Sexy, Mario, Beast, and Everyone’s Favorite… you are dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mama, grandfather, Henry, cousin, Bebo, and inherited cousins Raymond & Decire.

He is survived by his wife, Lindsey N. Nunez (Harrell), his mother, Marta (Jeannie) Nunez, father Teodoro (Teddy) Nunez, and step-parents Patricia Nunez & Alan Alexander. His sisters Kiara J. Nunez & Madison Baird and brothers Antonio Alexander & Alex Baird. His grandparents Maria E. Morcelo, Marta Rodriguez, Jose V. Rodriguez, as well as his dearest godparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and extended Florida family.

“Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart. One who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them”
