Rosita “Rose” Simms, 84, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer.

Rose was born on May 2, 1936, in the province of Pangasinan in the Philippines. Rose married Tommy Simms in 1956, and after several military assignments, she and Tommy settled in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where she devoted her life to raising her five children.

Rose was deeply passionate about disabled veterans and their families. She served as the Commander of Chapter 72 of the Disabled American Veterans, as well as Sergeant-At-Arms with the D.A.V Auxiliary at the State-level.

Rose is survived by her children, Scott, Ron (Christy), Anna (Brian) Bugbee, and David (Crystal). She was loved dearly by her grandchildren, Christopher, Kristen, Gabriella, and Rebecca, and great-grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, and Brighton.

Rose was preceded in death by a son, Mark, and her husband of 62 years, Tommy.

A graveside service will be held at Beal Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 12 pm, with Father Doug Martin presiding.
