Roger Brackston Whitley

(August 29, 1936 – March 29, 2018)

Mr. Roger Brackston Whitley, age 81 of Fayette, Alabama, died March 29, 2018 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where he has resided since August 11, 2016. A veteran, Roger served honorably in the Army and Military Sea Transportation Service with most significant duty assignment being, AMEDS 28th General Hospital, assigned to Croix-Chapeau, France. His MSTS service took him to Barcelona Spain, Bremerhaven Germany, and Greenland.  Roger was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his parents, Clem Whitley and Ora Hubbert Whitley; wife Betty Whitley, sister, Helen Bozeman; brothers Clarence, Kenneth, Terry and Cleburn Whitley.

Survivors include his sons, George Whitley (Judy) and Daniel Whitley (Rosemary); daughters, Christine Sherbondy (David) and Jennifer Whitley (Jeffrey Noll); grandchild Patrick Sherbondy. Sisters, Irene Hubbert and Barbara Whitley, brother Joe Whitley.
