Roger Douglas Webster, CMSGT USAF 23 years, RETIRED USAF CTR 37 YEARS, of Mary Esther Florida lost his hard fought battle to Covid 19 on September 17th 2020 at the age the of 79. Roger was an American Patriot who loved his family and friends with strength, compassion, generosity, and guidance. He will be missed greatly by all.
Roger was born in Bristol Virginia to Dee and Patsy Webster, where he grew up and ran the hills with his brother, David Webster and Sister, Rachel Webster. In 1959, Roger joined the USAF, and began his 60 year career in missile defense and protecting the country he loved. During his 23 years in the USAF he was awarded numerous medals and ribbons for his dedication and contributions. As “Chief” his mentorship was instrumental in many men and women’s military career. During this time, he also obtained his Masters Degree at Troy State University. After his honorable discharge in 1982, Roger took his extensive experience and knowledge of the USAF Logistic development and continued his career for the next 30 years at Eglin AFB as the lead logistic subject matter in acquisition and development. The friendships he made during these times remained with him until his passing.
Roger is survived and will be missed by his wife of 55 years, Erika Webster of Mary Esther, Fl; daughter and son in law, Kim and Bob Sisko of Merritt Island, Fl; his son and his partner, Frank Webster and Malaina Brown of Santa Rosa Bch, Fl; his son Mike Webster of Mary Esther, Fl; his sister, Rachel Webster of Kew Gardens, NYC. Roger will also be missed and fondly remembered by his extended family that he loved and treated like his immediate family.
Funeral Services will be Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:00 am with visitation at 9:00 am. Funeral and Military Honors will take place Thursday, September 24th at 11:00 am at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola NAS.
