Roger Francis Penry, 81, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on October 11, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio November 13, 1939 to Charles Penry and Marguerite Rogers Penry. After High School, he served in the Navy before earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University and Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University. He was a Civil Servant at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, then moved to Eglin Air Force Base where he subsequently retired in 1997 and enjoyed his love of golf.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynda McNeely Penry of Fort Walton Beach; son John Penry and granddaughter Katelynn Penry of Beavercreek, Ohio; sister, Patricia Onaindia of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother Charles (Diane) Penry of Little River, South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; step-children, Natalie (Chris) Klement (and children Ryan and Brandon Klement) of Springboro, Ohio and Nathan (Jessica) Bendorf (and children Nathan Jr. and Lacey Bendorf) of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Visitation will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral home at 9:00, Saturday, October 16 with the funeral service following at 10:00.
