Robert Michael Brown, 43 and Meredith Margaret Snow, 44, died at 12:28 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018, from injuries sustained in a two-automobile accident in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Robert Michael Brown was born April 9, 1975 at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center. Growing up in Mary Esther and Wynnhaven Beach, Florida he loved surfing, boating and fishing. Many hours were spent swimming with his sister Amy and brother Clint.
Attending New Heights Elementary he met his “other brother” and best friend Shane Reynolds. After graduating from Ft. Walton Beach High School, he and Shane went to the University of Florida. Here, Bob earned his BS degree in Graphic Design. After graduation Bob worked in various states (TN, HI, FL) before he took a challenging and rewarding job with Bote, a locally owned company.
Bob is survived by his parents, Herbert Brown, Dorothy (Cookie) Brown, step mother Marlice Ford Brown, brother Clinton Brown, sister Amy Brown Ward (Alex).
Meredith Margaret Snow was born October 24, 1973, at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina. She was an area resident for many years, and recently retired from her job as the Music Director at Emerald Coast Middle School.
Meredith grew up in Tampa, Florida graduating from Chamberlain High School. After graduating from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, with a BS in Music Education, she taught English abroad in Namie, Japan. Upon her return to the United States, she taught Music and Band in Tampa, Lihue (HI), and Santa Rosa Beach. She was enjoying her job of managing all the details of their Airbnb in Santa Rosa Beach.
Amongst her loves were family, music, teaching, dancing and her 4 footed child Kalani. Her capacity for love was unequaled and permeated every aspect of her life, especially Bob. Another special love was her time spent at Emerald Coast Middle School teaching band and music. She touched many lives with her devotion to her students.
She is survived by her parents Geraldine (Gerry) Snow and Ronald Snow, brother Todd Snow (Young).
Bob met the love of his life, Meredith Margaret Snow at a New Year’s Eve party in 1996. They fell in love and were together for16 years before their destination wedding on Kauai, HI on June 9, 2002. They bought a home in Santa Rosa Beach, but their dream was to live on the water in Destin. After searching for a few years, Bob and Meredith found a 100+ year old home on Calhoun Drive in old Destin, a shell that needed extensive work. Months of hard work and meticulous attention to detail created their dream home. They were living their dream.
Bob and Meredith were beautiful people, inside and out. They loved their family, friends and their beloved dog, Kalani, dearly. They will be in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at Harbor Docks on Sunday, 16 September 2018, at 1 PM CST. During this time the family will receive friends. Attire is casual.
