Richard Carroll Robeen, age 85, passed away Friday April 9, 2018 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was born in 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late William and Lola Robeen. Richard served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and retired after 21 years as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. During that time he was stationed at various locations throughout the world to include Africa, Europe and the Panama Canal Zone. After leaving the military, he served as a civilian as Hurlburt Field’s Ground Safety Officer. Richard had a love for the water and also was a Charter Boat Captain in Destin for many years where he provided annual fishing trips for the Silver Sands School. He was a member of the FWB Shrine Club and Elk’s Lodge. Richard leaves his loving wife Nancy Robeen; children Daniel Robeen (Martha) and Cindy Lemasters; sister Kathryn Lea Thomas (Bob); grandchildren Lindsey (Greg), Ricky, Andrew, Sophie and Brent and great grandchildren Madison and Grayson. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Belvedere Commons for their loving care of Richard during these last months. Family will receive friends and family 12:00 – 1:00 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd. NW, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in Kinderhook, Illinois.
