Skip McLendon was a husband, father, and Big Daddy, that went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the age of 69. He was born on November 9, 1952, in Pasco, WA. His family then moved to the Gulf Coast where Skip has resided ever since.
He owned and operated a garden center, Skip’s Nursery & Landscaping. He was best known and loved for his landscaping and lawn maintenance business for the last 50 years. Skip’s faith was an essential part of his life and he served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach. He adored his wife of 45 years, Lisa, and they enjoyed spending quality time together. His greatest pride and joy were his children and being Big Daddy to his five grandchildren. He was loved by all that knew him, and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Andrew (wife, Ashley), and grandchildren, Jake, Carter, and Chase; daughter, Alisia Ware (husband, Sean), and grandchildren, Presley and Easton Ware. He is also survived by his mother, Janice McLain, and mother-in-law, Betty Anderson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, June 10, at 4 pm at First Baptist Church Fort Walton Beach, 126 Harbeson Ave, SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL.
