Ray Lowe Grater

Ray Lowe Grater, 84, of Mary Esther, Florida, passed away on July 28, 2020.

Ray was born on September 25, 1935, in Atwood, Colorado.  TSGT Ray Grater served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1955 to July 1975 where he retired from Hurlburt Field AFB from the 1st Special Operations Wing. 

Ray is survived by his wife, Jane Grater of 60 years; son, Russell Grater; daughter-in-law, Monie Grater of Mary Esther, FL; son, Scott Grater; daughter-in-law, Donna Grater of Mary Esther, FL; Grandchildren, Justen Grater, Shelby Grater, Niki Grater, Aaron Carite and Morgan Neeley; sister, Miriam Guy of Lake, FL; sister, Jacketta McClanahan of Olathe, CO; sister, Ruth Arlene Roberts of Thornton, CO; brother, Larry Grater of Olathe, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gladys Grater and son, Raymond Grater.

A celebration of life service will be held for family and friends from 1-2 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2020, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL  32547.  The funeral will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 2 p.m.  Celebrant Al Stearns will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Jesse Rodgers Cemetery.
