Phyllis R. Zeller

Phyllis Petreikis Zeller, the beloved wife and widow of Jerry Blood spiritually departed this world on April 26, 2021 at the age of 85.  She had been raised in a Christian family with two older sisters and a younger brother on the historic peninsula of Squantum, MA in Boston Harbor.  Phyllis studied art at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and attended Patricia Stevens Finishing School in Boston.  In Michigan she studied acting at Michigan State University and Boarshead Theatre, worked for Transworld Airlines, Century 21, and Washburne Travel. 

She gave birth to five children between 1962 and 1968, of whom she is most proud. 

Phyllis was the driving force in creating the Eaton Rapids Little Theatre and directed large cast musicals for Eaton Rapids and Lansing Civic Players.

Phyllis and Jerry joined in the sacrament of marriage in 1991 and between them shared 8 children, 10 grandchildren and many great greats. 

Prior to retiring to Florida, Phyllis was Owner/CEO of Capital Cruises Inc. – Lansing’s Exclusive Cruise Travel Agency and she and Jerry enjoyed over 60 cruise sailings.  During retirement, Phyllis was honored to serve the Lord in her work with family life through the diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. She served over 20 years as an extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist both in Lansing, MI and Fort Walton Beach, FL at St. Mary Catholic Church.

The funeral mass will be Friday, April 30, 2021 at 12 Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 6 until 8 PM with the rosary at 7:30 PM.

In Phyllis’ Memory the family request contributions be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
