JOHNSTON, PHYLLIS ANNETTE, 78
Phyllis Annette Johnston, 78, of Fort Walton Beach Florida, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Reddick, Florida to Ila Mae and Carl Moore.
She will be welcomed in heaven by her sister Carla June Mason. her brother James D. "Jimmy" Moore, Sr.; and her beloved parents. She is survived by her husband, Jerry in Fort Walton Beach; and children, Jeffrey (and Christine), Elizabeth “Beth” (and Eleanor), and Timothy “TJ” (and Angela); and her grandchildren James, Katherine, Caroline, Jesse “JT”, Chad and Noah.
She was a valedictorian graduate of Reddick High School and received a teaching degree from Florida State University, but most of her career was spent raising her family. Annette enjoyed traveling, cooking, quilting and needlepoint and always looked forward to Jeopardy and any good Western. Her infectious giggle brought joy to all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Southern Scholarship Foundation (https://www.southernscholarship.org/). SSF provided scholarships to both Annette and Jerry to attend FSU, and through dinners and functions at SSF houses, they met and fell in love.
