Patsy J James

Patsy Jean James, 66, of Crestview, Florida went on to eternal rest on May 8, 2018. Patsy was the fifth child of out of 4 sisters and 5 brothers (7 remain living) born to Patsy Gladys James and Leagun James, Sr in Opp, AL. She was born August 2, 1951 to a homemaker/business owner and TV repairman. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School in 1969 and had attended Carver Hill school in Crestview, FL up until she moved up north. Her first job was working for her mother in the family restaurant, "The Hornets Nest" located on MLK Drive in Crestview, FL. She graduated from Okaloosa Walton Community College with her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She was a faithful Christian that dedicated her life many years ago and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a bank teller, librarian, medical supply store coordinator, child support specialist, revenue specialist, sales tax specialist, notary public, life insurance agent, homemaker and most recently retired after 20+ years with the State of Florida Department of Revenue as a full-time grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting stamps, reading and listening to music. She played the saxophone in the band as a young person and was a supporter of the arts, frequently attending various plays and events locally.  Patsy is survived by her children, Dawn Tamarri Franklin and Allison Alexandra Morris, 4 grandchildren Calvin James Franklin, Amarri Jenae Franklin, Samariah Reign Brown and Donavin Marshall Franklin with many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive visitors at the service held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1760 E. James Lee Blvd, Crestview, FL 32539 at 3pm CST.There will be a private viewing for immediate family at 11 am on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home at 161 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
