Patrick Charles Marcus, 90, of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away on August 7, 2022, at HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1931, in Clanton, AL to William and Myra (Duncan) Marcus. Patrick served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 and was assigned to the USS Philippine Sea CV 47. Following his discharge from the Navy, he attended Auburn University and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1958. Patrick moved to Pensacola, FL where he met the love of his life, Vivian (Mary Vivian Williams). They were married at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Pensacola on May 20, 1961. He was employed as an Architect at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. In 1971, he moved his family to Fort Walton Beach, FL, and was an Architect for the Department of Defense at Eglin Air Force Base for 33 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was being an architect for the All-Wars Memorial at Eglin AFB. Patrick was a long-time active member of Shalimar United Methodist Church and was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years where he served as a Scoutmaster. He enjoyed painting and drawing, watching Auburn football, and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vivian Williams Marcus of Fort Walton Beach, FL, daughter Leslie Harsany (Scott) of Cypress, TX, son Kent Patrick Marcus (Chrissy) of Mobile, AL, grandchildren Justin Harsany (Briana), Brandon Harsany, Lauren Salinas (Justin), Austin Marcus (Kristen), Kayla Phan (Rambo), and Keifer Marcus, great-grandchildren Cecilia, Parker and Archer Harsany, Ian Marcus and Clark Salinas, sister-in-law Eloyce Marcus and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myra Marcus, and siblings Thomas Marcus, Hayes Marcus (Tootsie), Nelle Cribbs (W.T.), Frank Marcus (Sophia), Oran Marcus (Marinell), Jack Marcus (Rena), Don Marcus (Ruth), and Mary Williams (Noah).

The Visitation will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2022, at Shalimar United Methodist Church and Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM Friday, August 12 at Shalimar United Methodist Church, 1 Old Ferry Rd, Shalimar, FL 32579 officiated by Rev. Dr. Philip McVay. Arrangements are under the direction of Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
