Norma Jean Harrington (1936-2021)

Norma Jean Harrington, age 85, passed away at home on October 18th surrounded by her loving family.  Norma was born in Galesburg, IL on July 8, 1936, and later moved to Tucson, AZ, where she spent her formative years and attended high school. She moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1976 from Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan. She truly loved the white beaches of the Emerald Coast.  She was one of the original workers at SOCKS; many kittens went home with her and became part of our family.

Norma is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Frank Harrington; son, David Charles Harrington, and his wife Linda of Crestview, FL; daughters, Deborah Anderson of Shalimar, FL, and Alison Harrington of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She leaves behind many grandchildren; Eric Craine of Tucson, AZ, April Pinner of Tallahassee, FL, Sarah Czepiel of Chicago, IL, Jessica Harrington of Burke, VA, Roxianne Bekkali of Triangle, VA, Cody Craine of Germany, and Saleane Craine of Purvis, MS. She also leaves behind several Great-Grandchildren; Ashlyn and Grant Pinner, Evan and Kyle Harrington, Me’ilie Mathers, Adam, Noah, and Leile Bekkali, Austin and A’miyah Czepiel.   Her parents predeceased her in death, Mariam Cartheauser of Tucson, AZ, and Virgil Johnson of Colquitt, GA, as well as brothers, Terry Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, and Jeff Johnson of Tucson, AZ.
