Nicholas Eugene Thomas

Nick, passed away in Shalimar on May 29, 2021. Nicholas E. Thomas was born on September 24, 1984, in Memphis Tennessee.  Nick attended Shalimar Elementary, Meigs Middle School and Graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 2003.  Nick went on to the University of West Florida for 3 years, joining the United States Navy in February 2008. He was a Sonar Technician (Surface) on USS Russell DDG-59, Pearl Harbor, HI; USS Harry S. Truman CVN-75, Norfolk, VA; USS Jason Durham DDG-109, Norfolk VA. Nick served 5 deployments - 4 to the Persian Gulf and 1 to the Mediterranean Sea. He was Honorably Discharged on June 26, 2020.

Nick never met a stranger. He was kindhearted, thoughtful, and always put others first.  Nick had an impeccable work ethic! His family and friends will miss his beautiful smile and him dearly. Rest In Peace our dear Nick!

In his honor a Military Memorial Service will be held at Beal Memorial Cemetery - Friday, June 11, 2021 - 10 AM. The dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to The Wounded Warriors Foundation or Shalimar United Methodist Church “Reboot”.
