Nancy Joan Slattery

Nancy Slattery, age 87, of Destin FL, went to be with the Lord on May 31,2018. She was born to Carl James and Clyde Clark on December 10,1930 in Hahira Georgia. She went to her Eternal Home for which she had full assurance before she passed that she would meet her Savior face to face on that day.

She has many who love her dearly and will miss her very much. Her children, Susan Clay, Sally Atkinson, and Spence Slattery; grandchildren Ryan Atkinson, Joanna Clay, Shara Atkinson, Andrew Atkinson, Elizabeth Mills, Jacob Slattery, and Colleen Slattery; great grandchildren, which she always told them “you made me great”, Mason Mills and Kate Mills.

She will be remembered for her love for the Lord; her love for her late husband Jim Slattery whom she adored and is now reunited with; her love, devotion, and loyalty to her family; her fervent prayers; her spunkiness; singing to her great grandchildren, her many valuable words of wisdom, and so much more. She was a loving, patient Mom; saw through the eyes of Jesus as a Grandmother, and absolutely delighted in being a Great Grandmother. Her favorite verse was Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” She has left a lasting legacy and will not be forgotten.

The family warmly welcomes you to a grave side celebration service of her life that will be held at Destin Memorial Cemetery on June 6th at 10 a.m. A small reception will be held at Coastline Calvary Chapel following the service.  She left special instructions that she wanted this time to not be sad but to be joyful and rejoice that she has made it Home and is with Jesus.
