Tribute

Mitchell Kingsbury, (Mitch) age 36, resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away April 18, 2024.  Mitchell was born on July 16, 1987 in Albuquerque, NM.  The son of Bruce and Marisol Kingsbury.

Mitch, as an Air Force Brat, he moved around with his family, within the US and abroad. One of his favorite places was in England.  His family was assigned to RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, where they lived from 1998 to 2005. He loved the lifestyle in England during his teenager years. He attended RAF Lakenheath High School at RAF Lakenheath, where he graduated in 2005.  One of his favorite pastimes during this time, was putting together a punk rock band, where he was the drummer. During High School his favorite sport was wrestling, and he traveled with the US High School team from RAF Lakenheath, to other European US High Schools to compete.

After returning to the US in 2005, the family were station at Hurlburt Field, FL.  The change of scenery, and the climate change from cold wet England, to sunny hot humid Florida created new interest in Mitch’s life.  He attended the old OWC College working on his AA on music recording, while he worked along the beach and in the Destin area within the food industry and bartending.  The perfect job for a college student according to him. Continuing with his love for music, Mitch started playing drums with the band Duende.  Among all the jobs he has done in the area, pursuing a career as a Merchant Mariner Captain, was his main goal.  To acquire the necessary sea time.  Choctawhatchee Bay was where he worked as a deck hand, primarily on the sailboat, Daniel Webster.  After some challenges accomplishing his goal, he finally received his Captain License, March 2024. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to practice the thing he loved the most.

He will be remembered as a loving father and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his daughter Lilliana Kalypso Kingsbury, by his parents Bruce and Marisol Kingsbury, brother Kevin Kingsbury, and sister Maribel Kingsbury. He is also survived by a very large family thru out the world, too large to name all.
