Mieko Henry, age 92, passed away on June 15, 2018. She was born in Wakayama City, Japan, to Ryozo and Ryu Hasegawa. She loved southern Japan, but ended up loving American soldier John C. Henry too. Torn by two worlds, she chose to leave Japan and come to America where she married and had four children; Richard L., James C., Lisa and Ken. Mieko became a U.S. Citizen in 1976. Mieko loved God and her country; she also loved everyone she encountered through her daily walk. She had a passion for cooking and sewing. Mieko was a chef and worked as a seamstress for many years mending and sewing patches on military uniforms. Her greatest love was her family. Mieko is preceded in death by her parents and husband, John, and grandson, Ben Henry. She is survived by Richard (Carolyn), James (Cori), Lisa and Ken (Mary); grandchildren, Daniel, Phillip, Matthew, Rachel, Monica, Mie, Parker, and Alicia; great grandchildren, Nolan and Olive.
