Michael Jeffery "Mike" Shampine

Michael Jeffrey Shampine, age 68, of Destin Florida, passed away January 22, 2020. He was born to Byron and Lucille in Chicago, Illinois on February 18, 1951.

He was a proud Teamster, he worked at South End Cartage and Altom Oil as an over the road trucker. Most recently he owned and operated Kastle Keepers with his wife Kathy.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, a great neighbor, and a terrific host to the families that he worked with while they were visiting the Destin area. Although he pretended not to enjoy company, he loved having family visit and showing off the wonderful area they chose to retire in. For most of his life he was a proud owner of a Harley Davidson and only recently gave up riding.

He was predeceased by his parents and his father in law, Bob.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of 40 years, his children Vince (Chika), Don, Heather and April (Bob), as well as his grandchildren, Stephen, Robert, Michael, Alexa, Caitlin, Oliver, Jacob, Ryan and Josh.
