Michael Joseph Riviezzo

March 1, 1964 ~ September 28, 2020 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Tribute

On September 28, 2020, we lost one of the sweetest, loving and most compassionate human beings on this earth. Following an, absolute, heroic fight with Coronavirus, Michael’s body was weakened by complications of the illness and the Lord decided it was time to take Michael home.

Michael was born, in Long Island, New York on March 1, 1964 to parents, Louis and Carmel Riviezzo.

Michael was raised in a large, military family. Upon his father’s retirement, they settled in Fort Walton Beach where Mike attended Bruner Middle School, Fort Walton Beach High School (Class of 1982) and Okaloosa-Walton Junior College.

Mike had a long career in sales management and finance, predominantly, in the automobile industry; meeting, greeting and gathering life-long friends along the way.

Michael woke up with a smile every day, gave of himself selflessly and never knew a stranger. He spread laughter, hugs and warmth with all who were lucky enough to share his presence.

He doted on family, especially his wife, who enjoyed coffee brought to her bedside, every single morning of their 20-year marriage. But, the newest addition to the family, Michael’s granddaughter, Isla, who affectionately called him “Papa,” was the light of his life. He was his happiest when spending time with his two best girls.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Lou; and his two brothers, Louis and Christopher Riviezzo. Michael is survived by his mother, Carmel Hopkins (David); his mom, Carol Riviezzo; his wife, Mary Riviezzo; his children, Chandler Riviezzo, Whitney Schweizer, Joshua Schweizer and Nash Edwards; his siblings, AJ Riviezzo (Marcy), Carmel Gray (Dallas), Tony Riviezzo (Danielle), Philip Leeser (Angie), Kevin Leeser (Navy), Taj Hoosier (Dan), and Allison Beck (Brad); his many nieces and nephews; his granddaughter, Isla Edwards; and his loyal pup, Gunner.
