Melissa Ann Birtzer, 42, resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fl., She passed away too soon. She was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on 9 June 1970, the Daughter of Buck and Kathy Roberts. Melissa was married to Shawn Birtzer on 31 Dec, 1998.
Melissa joined the Air Force shortly after high school as an Enlisted Intelligence Specialist.  After 4 years of Honorable Service, she left the Air Force to pursue her lifelong dream of helping others and became a Registered Nurse. She then had the opportunity to serve her country once again and enlisted as an Air Force Officer in the Medical Field. She served 18 years of honorable service and had 2 tours in Afghanistan.
Melissa loved her family and friends dearly. She also loved many things to include: hugs and kisses to her family every day, reading to her children every night, laughing, giving to others, holding hands, all family gatherings, fall colors, Christmas trees, long walks and hiking, finding shells on the beach with her family, nice wine and traveling anywhere.
She was survived by her Spouse Shawn Birtzer, 2 beautiful children, Ty and Brett Birtzer, Father Buck Roberts, mother Kathy Roberts and brother, Jeff Roberts.
