­­Mary “Rachelle” (Alfrey) Denny

1964-2017

Rachelle Denny, age 52, of Shalimar, FL, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2017. She was born to Clyde and Mary Alfrey on June 25, 1964 in Leadville, Colorado, spent her early childhood in West Virginia, and then moved to the Fort Walton Beach area in 1977. She is a proud graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School, Class of 1982. She is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Alfrey. She is survived by her mother, Mary Alfrey, her father-in-law, Corwin Denny, her brother, James (Debbie) Alfrey, sisters, Teresa Puckett and Veronica Lambert, and brother-in-laws Erick (Gina) and Jerrien (Pat) Denny, in addition to her special nephew Casey Puckett, and her lifelong best friend Debbie Clements. She is also survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 33 years, Jeff Denny. God brought Jeff and Rachelle together in 1981, and they have been inseparable ever since. Jeff and Rachelle have 3 beautiful children who think the world of their parents, April (David) Cudney, Hunter Denny, and Kiersten Denny. The most precious gifts of all are their 2 grandchildren Addison and Avery Cudney, who adore their Nana beyond measure. Rachelle was a Godly woman who never met a stranger and always put others before herself. She had a heart of gold and a smile and laugh that would light up a room. Rachelle enjoyed her 23 successful years as an insurance agent before leaving the workforce to be with her family full time. She was a devoted mom and nana, always involved in every aspect of each of her children and grandchildren’s lives, resulting in an impact that is felt by many. Rachelle is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, special friends and dear neighbors. The family also expresses their sincere appreciation of the outpouring of prayers, support, and love during this most difficult time. A visitation will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on March 5 from 12:30-2:30, with the service following at 2:30. Interment will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery following the service.
