Mary Etta Crowder

Mary Etta Crowder, 81, of Shalimar, Florida departed her earthly life July 26, 2020, after a brief illness. 

Mary Etta was born on April 6, 1939 to Milburn and Mildred Brown in Clyde, North Carolina. She pursued her dream of becoming a registered nurse and joined the Air Force where she met and married her husband of almost 55 years, Philip Crowder. They moved to Eglin AFB/Shalimar in 1972 where she raised her family and spent many years as a home health nurse. She was a long time parishioner of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Mary Etta is survived by her loving husband Philip Crowder; son Jeff (Pam) Crowder; daughter Debi (Ken) Keegan; grandchildren Jordan (Jill) Keegan, Tyler Crowder, Chelsea (Brock) Alexander, Jamie (Kristie) Crowder, Kendall (Jason) Neumann, Justin Keegan, Matthew Keegan and Brittany (Scott) Fleming; 10 great grandchildren; brother James “Bud” Brown; and countless other loved family and friends.

Mary Etta was preceded in death by her parents Milburn and Mildred Brown and her son Jimmy Crowder.

A mass and celebration of Mary Etta’s life will be planned at a future date.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Outreach Ministries in Mary Etta’s name at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
