In her early years, Marti was a cosmetologist who graduated beauty school while her husband was fighting in the Vietnam War. Marti also served her country as the dining facility assistant at the Florida Ranger Camp located at Eglin Air Force Base. There she earned numerous certificates and recognition for her stellar accomplishments. Marti was an avid artist that enjoyed expressing her creativity through the mediums of sketch and painting. However, even with all of these incredible achievements, her greatest accomplishment and triumph was found in the faces and joy of her four boys.
