Welcome to the memorial page for

Marina Semenov

May 9, 1939 ~ October 7, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Marina was born in Harbin, China. Soon after her birth, her family left China to immigrate to the United States, traveling first to Brazil before finally being allowed into the U. S., where they settled in San Francisco. While in San Francisco Marina met and married an Air Force fighter pilot, Anatole “Tony” Semenov, with whom she continued her worldwide travels as he was transferred about. It was their last military transfer that brought Tony and Marina to Fort Walton Beach. Soon after Tony’s military retirement, he and Marina were deeply involved in new careers in the local real estate market, where they remained until Tony’s death in December, 2003. Marina’s life was filled with love and caring for everyone she knew. She never met a stranger; and hosted many celebrations of friendship over the more than forty-five years of living in Fort Walton Beach. She will be missed by many.  In addition to Tony, Marina was predeceased by her parents, George and Olga. She is survived by her sisters Laura Sternthal and Irina Syty, as well as son Michael and wife Amy, and their two children, Benjamin and Anastasia.  A memorial service and celebration of life will take place on November 5th at 4:00 pm at the Fort Walton Yacht Club. Although flowers are appreciated, Marina asks that you consider a donation in her name to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or a charity of your choice.
