Mariece Herring, 96, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on March 12, 2017. She was born in Chapman, Alabama on August 23, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Herring; a daughter, Reyn Adair; parents, Robert and Nora Henderson, as well as three brothers and sister.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Julie) Powell and James S. Herring and daughter, Brenda Houghton, grandchildren Karen Brewer, Kevin Roberts, April (Paul) Stewart, Brook Powell, Victor Herring, Darlene (Skip) Lee, Lynn (Bill) Hale, Rebecca (Thomas) Taunton, Crystal Henderson, James (Sherry Lynn) Adair; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a manager of a local moving and storage company for many years. She was a charter member of the Fort Walton Beach Toastmistress organization (now ITC). She volunteered over 24, 000 hours during her 32 years with the FWB Medical Center Auxiliary, serving in many positions, including president, where she retired at age 94.

A visitation will be at 10 am and the funeral service will start at 11am on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL.
