Marie "Carmilla" Runfola

Marie Martello Runfola, age 77, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 21, 2020. She was born on March 25, 1943 in Mt. Morris, New York to John and Mary Martello. Marie resided in Mt. Morris, N.Y., where she graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1961. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles “Chuck” Runfola, her high school sweetheart, to whom she married in 1964. While Chuck was in the military, Marie was active in the Enlisted Wives Club, along with other charities for active duty and retired military.

Marie was a loving and caring person inside and out and always enjoyed making others feel beautiful. She was a former account advisor at Revlon where she worked at Rickenbacker AFB/Ohio Valley Region from 1974 to 1979 and then at Eglin AFB/Southeast Region from 1979 to 1994. In September 1994, Marie began her career with Mary Kay Cosmetics as a beauty consultant and moved up the career path becoming a sales director and then earning the position of senior sales director.

Marie is survived by her son Charles “Chuck” Runfola Jr. (Melanie), daughter Toni Runfola, grandchildren Charles “Chaz” Runfola III (Matt), Tawni Renee Runfola (Rick), and Mitchell Retherford as well as her great grandchildren Destyn Goodall, Miles Retherford and Mya Retherford. She left behind her loving brothers and sisters, Marlene Pues, Diane Martello, Tina Martello Argenna, John Martello, Tom Martello, her sister-in-law Roseann Watkins and brother-in-law Anthony “Tony” Runfola, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  In addition to her husband Chuck, Marie was preceded in death by her half sister Joan Martello Bellanca and her half brother Nick Martello of New York.  These loving family members, relatives, and many dear friends, will hold Marie close to their hearts as she will be remembered forever.
