Maggie C (Clanzy) Banks

November 13, 1925 ~ October 16, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

         Remembering Her Life

I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course.       2 Timothy 4:7

The late Ms. Maggie C. Banks was born in Seawright, Alabama to the late Mr. Benshed and Mrs. Annie Mae Clanzy. She relocated to Fort Walton Beach after marrying the late Mr. James Banks, Sr. To this couple six children were born. Her husband, parents and four of their children preceded her in death. The children were Jo Ann Banks, Margaret Seymore, Patricia Banks, and James Banks, Jr., others preceding her in death were one brother Fate Clanzy and one sister Marie Jackson; and five grandchildren, Albert, Edmond, Desmond, Clinton, YaShon and Za’Ronnie.

Maggie continued to live a fruitful and happy life here in Ft Walton Bch among family and friends until her death.  She was a quiet and unassuming person, and treated everyone the way she wanted to be treated. Her favorite saying when someone asked her how she was doing was “who wanna know.” She was loved and will be missed by all the lives she touched while she was here on this earth. She was active in the Community Crime Watch group in Sylvania Heights and loved being among her friends.

Quietly and peacefully while lying on her sick bed at the Ft. Walton Bch. Medical Center she heard a call from the Lord and obediently answered. She went home to be with the Lord and Savior on the morning of October 16, 2017.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Billy Banks and Gary Banks both of Ft. Walton Bch, FL; one sister, Reva Clanzy of Ft. Walton Bch, FL; nine grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 25 great great-grandchildren, one son-in-law Rev. Clanston

Seymore; two special friends Mr. Gene and Mrs. Gert Siler, and a host of other family members and friends.

God saw that she was getting tired

A cure was not to be

So He put His arms around her

And whispered “come to me”

She heard a voice we could not hear, that said you must not stay

She saw a hand we did not see, that beckoned her away.

God called, she heard, she answered.
