Luther Roy “Luke” Bailey, age 81, of Mary Esther Florida passed away on August 4, 2017 from esophageal metastatic bone cancer. Luke was born on January 20, 1936 in Parkin Arkansas to William & Esther Bailey.  Luke will be remembered as a devoted husband of 38 years to his one and only “sweet baby” Carol, his loving brother, uncle, father, and step father,  a farmer, proud USAF veteran, correctional officer and giver of time and energy to everyone who ever knew him. During his proud military career, he reached the rank of MSgt and retired with full honors in Alaska on May 31, 1977.  Luke is predeceased by his parents William and Esther Bailey, Brother Harold Bailey and Sister Faye Morgan.  Luke is survived by his wife Carol Ann Buzby Bailey; brother Donnie (Marcie) Bailey, sister Mae “Gertrude” (Albert) McGuire; children Kelly (Martin) Henry, Edie (John) Bushnell, Marilyn (Tom) Dooley, Kay (Mike) Scott, Ray (Ree) Bailey, Denise (John) McGlaughn, Constance (Tim) Smith, and Robert (Cheryl) Jackson; Grandchildren Justin Sawyer, Elise Tuley, Jesse Muchinhopt, Kevin Scott, Jennifer (Joseph) Donatelli, John Clayton McGlaughn, Christopher, Scott and Emma Smith, and Victoria and Alyssa Jackson; great grandchildren Collet Tuley, Kathryn and Allyson Donatelli; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for the loving care of Luther throughout his time of care.
