American Veteran 04

Lloyd Joseph Erdmier, Sr.

September 23, 1950 ~ September 12, 2021 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

Lloyd Joseph Erdmier passed away suddenly at Fort Walton Beach Medical center on September 12 to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ. He fought bravely, but ultimately lost his battle with cancer. He was just a few days shy from his next birthday, at 70 years old.

He was born in Sterling, Illinois on Sept 23, 1950. He was the son of Donald Joseph Erdmier and Amanda Elizabeth Alvery. He is survived by his siblings Patricia (Wagens) Alter, Delos Wagens, Laverne Ohlwine, Robert Wines, Elizabeth (Erdmier) Foose, Amanda (Erdmier) Foulk, Brad (Erdmier) Popejoy.

He met his wife, Claudia, in the Philippines and survived being married for 50+ years. He is lovingly remembered by their son, Lloyd Joseph Erdmier Jr.,  two daughters Lou Anne and Leila, and grandson Skyler Updike.

He finished his noble military service with the Air Force after earning his Master's degree. He was a father who enjoyed fishing, music, social media, animals, and voulenteering for his church. Lloyd will always be remembered by his easy smile, great attitude, stellar service, big heart, and all those crazy military jokes that retired helicopter mechanics know.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 16 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Racetrack road from 1:00-2:00 PM with services to follow at 2:00 PM.

A small burial will be held at Barrancas cemetery on Monday September 20 at 10:00 AM.  Condolences and flowers are welcomed, donations made to the widow for unforseen expenses and appreciated. Thank you for being his friend.
