Linda R McGill

Linda Rae McGill, age 70 passed away on September 20, 2019. Linda was born at home in Maryland because her dad needed to shave before they went to the hospital.Linda moved to Destin, FL. in 1979 where she met and married the love of her life, Ronnie, in 1981. She devoted her life to loving her husband and children.  Each of her three children believed themselves to be her favorite, but when questioned on this she always replied “I don’t have a favorite, I don’t like any of you.”  Linda was well known for her quick wit and sense of humor which she has passed along to her children and grandchildren.Linda always knew when a friend or loved one was in need of an encouraging word or a well-timed card. She believed in the power of prayer and all of Linda’s “people” knew that they were loved by her... she loved well.  It was no secret that family was a priority for Linda which was a value instilled in her by her parents. She remained close with her siblings throughout her life and taught her own children the importance of family bonds.As an adult, Linda accepted Christ as her Savior and because of this we know that she is spending eternity in heaven with her parents, her first baby, and two grandchildren.Linda is survived by her adoring husband, Ronnie of 37 years (and when I say adoring I mean that no woman on earth has ever been loved like this man loves her);Children: Jeff (Francis), Judie (Branden), and Kristin (Chad);
Grandchildren (This is when her children learned that she really didn’t like any of us): Matt, Journey, Connor, Alyssa, Savannah, Alaina, Avery, Addy, Mason, Alec, Anden and Ryder;Siblings: Judie (Wes), Vaughn (Margie), Sandy (John), and Margo (Glen); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Please join us celebrating her life Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Family will receive guest at 4pm followed by a memorial service at 5pm.
