Libbyann Wilson Burton, age 95, passed away on August 26, 2017 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Libbyann was born on July 20, 1922 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late John Minnich and Laurentia Lynam Wilson. She graduated from Indiana State Teacher’s College Laboratory High School and earned an Associate Degree from Indiana State University where she was a theater major.  She was a member of Alpha Theta Phi Honorary Theater Sorority.  She earned a Masters from the Southern Dance Association and taught for Willadean Walden’s School of Dance in Montgomery, Alabama. Libbyann was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sisters Lenny Lou Wallace, Mary Ellen Lynam, and brother Jock Wilson. She leaves behind brother Perry Gale Wilson (Inga) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Libbyann’s children are Paul (Kathleen), LuEllen (Ed), Robin (Valerie), Carol Ann, and John. She appeared often in Shakespeare and other plays, and was a strong swimmer.  She was offered a movie contract by Universal Studios, which she declined to marry Herbert C Burton, Army Air Corps Cadet.  After teaching kindergarten,  Libby traveled the world with her husband as an Air Force Fighter Pilot’s wife and was instrumental in the cultural, academic and literary education of their children.  Libbyann was also a Member of the Eastern USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame for Tai Chi Study.  In later life, Libbyann contributed greatly to the understanding of the Burton and Wilson genealogy and was known for her marvelous and warm sense of humor.  She made many wonderful contributions to the upbringing of her seven (7) grandchildren (one deceased) and five (5) great grandchildren. May she rest in peace knowing she is deeply loved by all her family and many, many friends. Catholic Services will be held at St. Mary’s Village Church, Terre Haute,  Indiana. Following the celebration of mass, the ashes of both Libbyann and Herbert C. Burton will be interred in the adjoining cemetery.
