Lewis Brinn Davis Sr.

  Lewis Brinn Davis Sr., age 83, nicknamed “Doodle Bug” passed away on January 7, 2021 in Fort Walton Beach.  Lewis was born in 1937 in Northampton County, North Carolina.  He married Dorothy Dixon in Covington County Alabama in 1958.  Lewis entered military service at a young age serving in Vietnam in the 360th Tactical Electric Warfare Service earning the Distinguished Flying Cross.  He enjoyed socializing with his other retirees at the VFW, Moose Lodge and American Legion. Lew as they knew him always had a joke ready.

   He is survived by his son, Lewis Brinn Davis Jr. and wife Cynthia; two grandchildren, Janna and John Davis from Georgia and two great grandchildren, Ansley Davis and Barrett Davis.  Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis R. Davis Sr. and Maude Brinn Davis; sisters, Zenamae Vercenar and Evelyn Walker; brother, Wayne Davis; brother, Wilbur Davis of Montana; nephew, Tommy Kullman of Virginia; niece, Darlene Jones of Arizona and nephew, Michael Vercenar of Colorado.

Lewis will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. with full military honors.
