Lee Kendall Griffin, a proud Veteran of The United States Air Force, passed away on January 20, 2022.
The son of Nina and Francis Griffin, Lee was born April 15, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Catonsville Senior High School.
At the age of 18, Lee enlisted in The United States Air Force. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Master Sergeant, retiring from Hurlburt Field AFB with 24 years of service. As part of his service, Lee served in Vietnam and in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. While serving in Vietnam he earned the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device along with the Vietnam Campaign Medal. After retiring from the Military, Lee served his community as a Mary Esther City Councilman.
Lee had a passion for computers, astronomy, baseball, and corny jokes.
He also enjoyed hockey, sailing, Formula 1 racing, MotoGP, and watching Disney movies with his daughter, Jackie.
He was a mild-mannered man with a calming demeanor who lived a life dedicated to serving his country, town, and family. He pledged allegiance to the flag and for which it stood, always being a man of initiative, conviction, integrity, and simplicity. He will be missed tremendously and his legacy will live on through the smiles of his children, grandchildren, and wife.
Lee Griffin is survived by his loving wife Lisa Landry-Griffin; Daughters Lisa Griffin (Mike), Erika Kirchner (Chris), Nina Dillard (Gabriel), Stephanie Maye (Shannon), Jackie Griffin; Son Quentin Griffin; Grandchildren Eli Flowers, Ophelia Packer, Damien Dillard, Dominic Dillard, Corbin Feldhauser, Hayleigh Maye, Kyleigh Maye; Sister Lynn Wisniewski (Al); Brother Greg Griffin (Jane). He is preceded in death by Father Francis Griffin, Mother Nina Griffin; grandchildren Nicholas Dolan and Nathaniel Dolan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27th at 10:00 AM with the funeral to follow at 11:00 AM. Lee will be laid to rest at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
