Laura Stefanik age 82 of Shalimar passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 10, 2018. Laura was born in Johnstown, PA in 1935 to Joe and Mary Oswald.  She has been a resident of Shalimar since 1973 and a longtime employee of the Dining hall on Eglin AFB. Laura enjoyed spending time with family and friends and looked forward to Saturday afternoon Mass at Bob Hope Village. Laura is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Stefanik, Sr., son, David Stefanik and brother, James Oswald. She is survived by her sons, John (Barbara) Stefanik, Joseph Stefanik and daughter Mary Sperry; grandsons, Jason, Bryron and Joey Sperry as well as several great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to Autumn and Caitlyn for their compassionate care. Laura is loved and will be missed by many.Services will be determined at a later date with an inurnment at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice in honor of Laura.
